Scaffolding Safety Accessories - Essential Guide to Cross Bracing

On construction sites, scaffolding safety is of paramount importance. According to the Unified Standard for Safety Technology of Construction Scaffolding (GB 51210-2016), vertical cross bracing must be installed on the longitudinal exterior faces of working scaffolds. The specific requirements are as follows:

1.Cross Bracing Width: Each cross brace should span 4 to 6 bays, with a minimum width of 6 meters and a maximum of 9 meters. The angle between the diagonal members and the horizontal plane should be between 45° and 60°.

2.Height Requirements:For scaffolds under 24 meters in height: Cross bracing should be installed at both ends, corners, and at intervals not exceeding 15 meters along the length, extending continuously from the base to the top.For scaffolds 24 meters or taller: Continuous cross bracing must be installed across the entire exterior face from the base to the top.

3.Special Scaffolds: Cantilevered scaffolds and attached lifting scaffolds must have continuous cross bracing installed across their entire exterior faces from the base to the top.

These regulations are designed to ensure the stability of the scaffolding and the safety of workers. Strict compliance with these safety standards is mandatory during the erection and use of scaffolding.
