Construction Details of Steel Tube Scaffolding with Couplers

In the construction process, steel tube scaffolding with couplers is widely used, and its importance is self-evident—without it, projects cannot proceed smoothly. Additionally, depending on the type of engineering project, coupler-type steel tube scaffolding is often used for different purposes, such as scaffolding and formwork support. Currently, bowl-type scaffolding is commonly used for bridge support frames in the industry, while portal scaffolding is often employed for main structural construction. Coupler-type scaffolding is mostly used for ground-supported scaffolding. The vertical spacing of scaffolding uprights is generally 1.2–1.8 meters, and the horizontal spacing is generally 0.9–1.5 meters.

Steel tube scaffolding with couplers also offers several advantages:
1.Easy Assembly and Disassembly: The coupler connection method is simple and adaptable to the construction of scaffolding for various types of buildings and structures with diverse planes and elevations. The initial investment cost is low, and the effect is further enhanced with careful design of the scaffolding’s geometric dimensions.
2.Strong Economic Efficiency: The processing technology is straightforward, with a focus on improving the turnover rate of steel tubes. The material usage also achieves good economic results. The steel consumption for coupler-type steel tube scaffolding is approximately 15 kilograms per square meter of construction area.
3.Key Points to Note:
(1) The U-shaped steel used must be high-strength steel.
(2) U-shaped steel must not be made of threaded steel.
(3) U-shaped steel must pass underneath the bottom reinforcement of the slab.
(4) The thickness of the steel pressure plate should not be less than 10 millimeters.
(5) Each bolt must have no fewer than two nuts.
