Calculation Methods for Industrial Scaffolding in Scaffolding Specifications

1.The design of scaffolding shall ensure that the scaffold structure is a stable structural system, and shall have sufficient load-bearing capacity, stiffness, and overall stability.

2.The scope of design calculations for scaffolding shall be determined based on factors such as the scaffold structure, erection location, service function, and loads.
Among them, the design calculations for formwork support frames shall include the following contents:
(1) Calculations for the strength, stiffness, and deflection of formwork, secondary girders, and main girders;
(2) Calculation for the stability and load-bearing capacity of vertical poles;
(3) Calculation for the load-bearing capacity of vertical pole foundations;
(4) Calculation for the compressive strength of top and bottom supports;
(5) When a door opening is provided, calculations for the strength and deflection of the door opening transfer beam;
(6) When necessary, calculation for the anti-overturning capacity of the scaffold structure.

3.When designing the scaffolding structure, a force analysis of the scaffold structure shall first be conducted to clarify the load transfer path, and the most representative and unfavorable members or components shall be selected as the calculation unit. The selection of the calculation unit shall comply with the following provisions:
(1) Select members and components subjected to the maximum force;
(2) Select members and components with increased span and step height;
(3) Select members and components at positions where the scaffold structure changes or at weak points (such as door openings);
(4) When there are concentrated loads on the scaffolding, select members and components subjected to the maximum force within the range affected by the concentrated loads.
