Technical Specifications for Scaffolding Erection Height and Member Installation

Clear height limits and standardized member installation are critical to ensuring the overall stability and construction safety of fastener-type scaffolding. This article specifies the regulated erection height and key installation requirements for longitudinal ledgers.
Scaffolding Erection Height Limits
The maximum erection height of single-row scaffolding is limited to 24 meters, while double-row scaffolding shall not exceed 50 meters. Segmented erection is mandatory for double-row scaffolding with a height over 50 meters.
Installation Specifications for Longitudinal Ledgers
Longitudinal ledgers shall be installed on the inner side of vertical poles, with each single member covering no less than three spans. Extension connection adopts butt fasteners or lap joints, complying with the following standards:
1. Joint Layout Requirements
Joints of adjacent longitudinal ledgers shall not be arranged in the same row or span. The horizontal spacing of staggered joints shall be no less than 500mm, and the distance from any joint center to the nearest main node shall not exceed one-third of the longitudinal pole spacing.
2. Lap Connection Standards
The minimum lap length is 1 meter, fixed evenly with three swivel fasteners. The distance from the edge of the end fastener cover to the rod end shall be no less than 100mm.
3. Fixing and Spacing Rules
For stamped steel, wooden and bamboo chip scaffold boards, longitudinal ledgers shall be fixed on vertical poles with right-angle fasteners to support transverse ledgers. For bamboo mat scaffold boards, longitudinal ledgers shall be equidistantly fixed on transverse ledgers with a maximum spacing of 400mm.
